Muse Flats officially opened its doors in early September at 290 Colony Street. The brand new mixed-income, mixed-use building was built in collaboration with the local arts community to create a unique and inspired living experience for residents of Downtown Winnipeg. Muse Flats is an accessible, sustainable, culturally inclusive apartment building for a range of household types.
The 119 residential suites range in price with affordable, market and premium suites. Studio suites; one-, two- and three-bedroom suites; and barrier-free, wheelchair-accessible suites are currently available. The building also includes four visiting artists’ residence program suites, which were built in partnership with Artspace.
The rooftop terrace offers a lounge and barbeque space with extraordinary views of downtown Winnipeg. The amenity space doubles as an art and music room, which is outfitted with acoustic panels and art supplies. Other shared building amenities include indoor bike storage, resident memberships for the Peg City Car Co-Op and RecPlex gym memberships available at a reduced cost.
Muse Flats suites are modern, spacious, and bright. The newly-built suites feature open concept designs that include generous storage space to effectively maximize each living space. Suites have large windows letting in plenty of natural light, as well as offering spectacular views of Downtown Winnipeg. Suites have central air-conditioning and most suites have in-suite laundry. Premium suites include luxury vinyl wood-planked floors, stainless steel appliances, glass tile backsplash, custom kitchen cabinetry, solid surface countertops and more.
Muse Flats is also home to a public art piece entitled, “Imagined lines and Movement and Spaces of Rest along Colony Creek” made by Dee Barsy through collaboration with Synonym Art Consultation. This painting features Dee’s iconic blue background, bright colours, and abstract lines. The 8’ X 40’ exterior mural is located on the Colony Street, between the building’s parking and the café commercial retail unit’s patio area.
